The Prophet’s PBUH Seerah as Reflected in the Companions’ Narratives: An Analytical Approach
Abstract
This research presents an analytical study of the reflections of the Prophetic Seerah in the narrations of the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ, with a focus on his conduct in worldly and interpersonal matters. In the modern context, faith and worship are often narrowly understood as the performance of rituals—such as prayer, fasting, Hajj, ‘Umrah, and verbal glorification—while the broader moral, ethical, and humanitarian objectives of Islam are overlooked. The study underscores that these acts of worship, while obligatory, are intended to nurture the spirit of compassion, justice, and service to humanity. Without embodying these values, rituals lose their essence and divine acceptance. The Qur’anic message makes it clear that Allah Almighty is not in need of human acts of devotion; rather, they serve as a means for spiritual purification and moral transformation. If worship fails to produce God-consciousness (taqwā) and genuine concern for others, it remains incomplete and unfruitful. The study concludes that a believer should embody all the noble qualities that can exist in human dignity.
