Abstract

The Qurān, the holy book of Islam, serves not only as a religious guide but also as a source of moral and ethical principles that can shape and sustain a just and harmonious society. Surah Al-Mā'oon, a short chapter in the Qurān, provides profound insights into the values and behaviors that are essential for the sustainability of society. This analytical study delves into the teachings of Surah Al-Mā’oon to elucidate its relevance in fostering a sustainable and compassionate community. Surah Al-Mā'oon, consisting of just seven verses, condemns hypocritical behavior and emphasizes the significance of small acts of kindness and compassion in daily life. It serves as a powerful reminder of the moral responsibilities that individuals bear toward their fellow human beings and the broader community. This study aims to explore how the principles outlined in Surah Al-Mā’oon can contribute to the sustainability of society in the contemporary world. The analytical study also delves into the Qurānic perspective on hypocrisy and insincerity. It argues that hypocrisy not only erodes the moral fabric of society but also hampers its progress and sustainability. The chapter's condemnation of hypocritical behavior serves as a call for individuals to be sincere in their actions and intentions, fostering trust and cooperation within the community.
