Abstract

Sulṭān Bāhū (1039H-1102H) was a punjabī mystic poet who brought big change in the society of subcontinent. He tried to awake the people from deep sleep and prepare them to play their role in shaping an ideal society. The question arises he succeeded played his role to persuade in the people of subcontinent to the right path. The research has been conducted through studying the poetry of Sulṭān Bāhū (1039H-1102H) and analyzed what was the main theme and strategy which he adopted to achieve his purpose and changed the minds of the people and they concentrated to his poetry and got guidance. The research can be concluded that Sulṭān Bāhū (1039H-1102H) preached the people by conveying the message of Islam through examples of the world and gave clear concept of hereafter and warned the people to be prepare for everlasting world.
