Abstract

Na’at is an Arabic word which literally means to prase the last prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The use of Na’at has been in practice since the beginning of Islam. This word became very famous with the Prophet's (PBUH) mission. Na’at also refers to qasida, detailing the virtues of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and glorifying the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). In reality, the na’at describes the qualities that Allah Almighty has bestowed upon his beloved Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The way that Allah Almighty said the words of Na’at makes it seem like a Sunnah of God. Because the characteristics of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are described in Na’at Mustafa. Na’at also contributes for the improvement morality of society. This is because hearing about and describing the Holy Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) characteristics motivates good deeds and drives out evil from an individual. Na’at bestows upon literature the blessing of progress, it is also heart and spiritual need, social need, Literary necessity, Faithful need so it has great importance.
